Simon Anderson was one of the founding team of Market Halls, working as the Chief Operations and Creative Officer and helping it grow from an idea to the UK’s leading food hall business with multiple sites.
Pioneers of the UK food hall scene opening sites in Fulham, Victoria, Oxford Street & Canary Wharf. Winners of multiple awards, these sites set out the framework for the business model followed by many sites since. Victoria alone served one million customers in its first year, with sales of over £12m.
Simon was instrumental in curating the spaces, finding the best street food talent and supporting emerging businesses to establish themselves and grow into profitable, well-loved staples of the local foodie scene. His vision for the model of the venture has seen it grow across London despite setbacks during Covid.
After growing sales to over £22 million this year, Market Halls have announced plans to take the model nationwide, looking to launch two to three sites a year, with the majority outside of London.
