The Wool Market, Doncaster
Hayden and Emma were involved with the concept design, delivery and operation of Doncaster Wool Market, a transformative food hall project in the heart of the town centre.
The Wool Market underwent major refurbishment in 2019, transforming an underutilised area of the market estate into a modern food, drink, shopping and leisure destination. The market is now home to ten street food kitchens and four bars alongside exciting competitive leisure concepts, including Duckpin Bowling, augmented-reality darts and shuffleboard.
The Wool Market has become one of Doncaster's most popular venues, with an extensive programme of family-friendly entertainment that sees people of all ages and backgrounds regularly enjoying the space. The Wool Market had a significant influence on anti-social behaviour in the area, with the market square transforming into a lively, social destination.
Hayden Ferriby worked alongside the project team to devise and deliver the concept for the Wool Market, from design to pre-letting the trading units. He then oversaw the management and operations of the Wool Market from 2020 to 2023, taking the venue from launch to the vibrant destination it is today.
